How Vobiz bills voice
Vobiz's voice pricing has the same four parts as any carrier's. Inbound minutes are charged when someone calls a number you own. Outbound minutes are charged when you place a call, at a rate that depends on whether you are dialling a landline or a mobile. Number rental is a flat monthly charge per number, and a new number carries a one-time setup fee equal to one month's rental. Extras such as call recording (US$0.0012 a minute), transcription and speech recognition are priced separately; text-to-speech and recording storage are free.

The coverage catch
India is where Vobiz is built to be used, and it is also the one country where Vobiz publishes no list price: pricing there is on request, after KYC. Vobiz's own documentation quotes ₹0.45 a minute outbound, which is what the calculator shows; inbound and number rental for India come from Vobiz's sales team, and the calculator says so instead of guessing. Everywhere else Vobiz quotes in US dollars, at list rates that match Plivo's in the United States and the United Kingdom.
This matters because most of the businesses these tools are built for are inbound-first: a clinic, a workshop, a salon, a restaurant. If that is you and you are in one of those countries, the calculator will tell you plainly rather than quoting a rate that does not exist. Twilio is then the carrier to price up, and the Twilio calculator is next door.
What this calculator does and does not include
- Included: inbound minutes, outbound minutes split between landline and mobile, and monthly number rental, all at Vobiz's published list price for the country you pick.
- Excluded: volume and committed-use discounts, transcription, speech recognition, CNAM lookup, browser SDK and SIP legs (billed separately at a much lower rate), taxes and regulatory fees.
- Not published: where Vobiz has not published a rate for a line, that line is excluded from the total and labelled, never counted as free.
- India is billed by Vobiz in rupees, so that country's figures are shown in rupees and kept separate from the dollar-priced platform fee rather than converted. Only the outbound rate is published; the other lines are marked as not verified and left out of the total until you have Vobiz's quote.

Because it is your bill, not ours. WhautoVoice is bring-your-own-key: you connect your own carrier account, that carrier charges you its own rates with no markup from us, and our invoice is a flat platform fee that includes a monthly allowance of processed minutes, with extra minutes at half a cent. We have nothing to gain from you not knowing what minutes cost, and quite a lot to gain from you comparing our flat fee against a bundled vendor that buys these same minutes wholesale and resells them at retail.
